Activities:
Depart early from Dar es Salaam for the scenic 4–5 hour drive to Mikumi National Park. Along the way, enjoy the changing landscapes of southern Tanzania, passing small villages, farmland, and acacia-dotted plains. You may stop for breakfast en route (optional) or pack snacks for the journey.
Arrive at the park in the afternoon and check into your lodge or campsite. After settling in, enjoy a delicious lunch at your lodge, preparing for your first safari adventure. In the late afternoon, embark on an afternoon game drive, exploring Mikumi’s savannahs, riverine forests, and woodland areas. Watch for elephants grazing in herds, graceful giraffes browsing the treetops, and lions lounging in the shade. The afternoon light provides excellent photographic opportunities.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner. If available and desired, an optional night game drive can be arranged, offering the chance to spot nocturnal wildlife such as bushbucks, genets, or leopards prowling after sunset.
