Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Arusha National Park Exploration

Accommodation: Luxury lodge in Arusha
Meals: Dinner included

Activities: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your guide will meet you for a transfer to your lodge in Arusha. After check-in, you may enjoy an optional afternoon safari in Arusha National Park, exploring its scenic crater lakes, forested trails, and abundant wildlife including giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and colobus monkeys.

Highlights: Relax after your flight, enjoy the lodge amenities, and immerse yourself in Tanzania’s unique wildlife. Evening dinner is included at the lodge.

Day 2: Momella Gate to Saddle Hut (2,820m)

Accommodation: Saddle Hut campsite
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner included

Activities: Begin your trek from Momella Gate, ascending through dense montane forests and bamboo zones. The trail passes waterfalls, streams, and areas rich in birdlife and small wildlife. This day is primarily focused on gradual ascent and acclimatization, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

Evening: Arrive at Saddle Hut, your campsite for the night, allowing time to rest and prepare for the summit push the following day.

Day 3: Saddle Hut to Summit & Descent to Miriakamba Hut (3,550m)

Early Morning: Depart before dawn for the summit push to Mount Meru at 4,566 meters. The trek takes you through high-altitude moorlands and alpine desert zones, where the vegetation becomes sparse and the views expansive. Witness the sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro, the surrounding valleys, and the Great Rift Valley—an unforgettable experience for photographers and adventurers alike.

Descent: After reaching the summit, begin a controlled descent to Miriakamba Hut, enjoying the alpine scenery and wildlife along the way. Evening rest and dinner are provided at the campsite.

Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate & Departure

Activities: Complete the final descent through alpine desert and forest trails back to Momella Gate. From there, transfer to Arusha for departure or continue to additional safari extensions in northern Tanzania.

Highlights: Reflect on your achievement, enjoy the final scenic trails, and take last photographs of the mountain environment.
