Stone Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its labyrinthine streets, intricately carved doors, bustling markets, and centuries-old architecture reflecting African, Arab, Indian, and European influences.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour of Stone Town. Highlights include:
The House of Wonders (Beit-al-Ajaib), showcasing Zanzibar’s history and maritime heritage
The Old Fort, a defensive structure dating back to the 17th century
Vibrant local markets selling spices, textiles, and handcrafted souvenirs
Your guide will share stories about the island’s history, the spice trade, and the cultural influences that make Zanzibar so unique.
As the sun sets over the harbor, enjoy refreshing drinks at a rooftop café, watching dhows sail past the historic coastline. This is the perfect introduction to the island, offering panoramic views and a taste of the relaxed island lifestyle.
